BISHOPS BURTON.

Bishop Burton is a village and civil parish in the east riding of Yorkshire, England. It lies approximately three miles to the west of Beverley. Bishop Burton has a population of 696 in 2011. The village is mentioned in the Doomsday book as belonging to the archbishop of York and the site of Archbishops Manor house continued to be the site of manor houses up to the demolition of High Hall in 1952. The village is actively focused on farming, several working farms are to be found in and around the village. The village has two ponds, the larger one is referred to as the Mere and hosts a number of geese and ducks. The Altisidora Inn named after a race horse owned by a former lord of the manor that won the St Leger in the middle 19th century provides welcoming refreshment to villagers and visitors.

  1. I like this a lot. Really beautiful! I do like the way all the structures were built. They have a nice look that look somewhat old yet not ancient if that makes any sense. Not sure how to say what I'm thinking. Comfortable comes to mind as well. Of course the ducks and geese are cool critters as well. Is that some sort of duck or goose house out in the Mere? If so, that was quite thoughtful of someone. This is really a cool place and great to see! The photos are really well done and clear. You do good work, my friend!!!
