SCARBOROUGH CASTLE.

Scarborough castle stands on a massive promontory of rock that rises above the north sea, overlooking Scarborough, North Yorkshire, England.  It started out as an iron age fort, was occupied by the Romans, became a Viking Settlement and reached it`s heyday under Henry II. Over the centuries it has seen civil wars, sieges and conflicts. It also came under bombardment during the first world war.

Entrance to Castle.

Another entrance but this one fastened off, so you cannot enter.

All my photographs where taken from outside the castle walls I did not go inside the castle.
