MULLION COVE.

Mullion Cove or Porth Mellin is a small community on the west coast of the Lizard Peninsula in Cornwall, England. The cove forms part of the parish of Mullion and is accessible by road from Mullion village. The cove is 5 miles south of Porthleven and 14 miles southeast of Penzance by sea. It is 6 miles south of Helston by land and 13 miles southwest of Falmouth by land. The coast in this part of Cornwall can be a wild and rugged place. Mullion harbour was built between 1893 and 1895 to support the pilchard fishing industry from the cove and kindly donated to the National Trust by the Meyer family in 1945. The harbour still has a small fishing fleet today, landing mainly shellfish.
