Established in 1987 as Crewe Railway Age by the owning registered charity, it returned to its original name of Crewe Heritage Centre in early 2008. The museum is located in the old London and Scottish railway yard, which was once part of Crewe works, between the junction to Chester and the West Coast main line. The site is operated by supporters of the Crewe Heritage Centre. These are the locomotive pictures I have taken at this centre.

This is neat beyond description! TRAINS!!! The APC is interesting and quite comfortable looking. The Duchess is of a design it is hard to determine age. When was it built? 1930's? She looks like she is steam, but hard to tell. Coal fired? The Robert Burns looks newer for sure, but kinda cool looking. The shunters look small but strong. I am presuming they are the same thing we call switch engines here. Move cars around to form trains or take trains apart. They never leave the yard. That loco under restoration looks similar to the Duchess. Is it? Never mind me and those switches and levers. If it was me running them there is no telling what would happen in the rail yard. Instead of trains I think there would be bumper cars! hehe Great photos my friend! Love trains.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dave for the comments, yes the Duchess is a steam train. The shunters are the same as switch engines.
